Ella Elephant Buddies
I was really looking forward to this review for a few reasons. One being Justin hates all soothers, he has rejected them since a few days after birth when I tried. Which is fine, but now with teething, and separation anxiety he gets it means Mommy is used a lot as a human pacifier so I was hoping to find something that could maybe help a little bit for us.
We received Ella Elephant for review. When it arrived I was very happy to see the soother was one we hadn't tried yet, and the packaging was very nice. I could see everything inside and right away saw how cute Ella was and couldn't wait to try it out!
I was very skeptical though. But at this point knew there was nothing to loose.... Ella was super cute and I went into this knowing Justin is a very high maintenance baby so if it didn't work that was fine, at least I'd be able to still post the review.. even with a sore boob or two ;)
We sterilized the paci and gave it to Justin. At first he kept biting the sides of the pacifier which was okay because PROGRESS! He wouldn't even do that with anything else we've tried. He absolutely loved Ella. He squeeled when he was holding her and kept putting her to his face, it was truly adorable. THEN IT HAPPENED.... HE put it in his mouth!
This was HUGE. Of course it didn't last long and we didn't make a big deal out of it, because if you do - they'll never do it again! He kept playing with it and popping it in and out of his mouth with a suck here and there. He needed to get used to it!
Eventually he did. He absolutely did!
He doesn't take it often, we let him play with it when hes playing with his toys and he will pop it in and out of his mouth himself. The only time he takes it like above is if hes been nursed and laid down while tired. It has also allowed for lots of cuddling and bonding with daddy because it doesn't require me. I can nurse him, and then hand him to daddy for some cuddles with Ella and out like a light Justin goes.
It's been a true miracle - before we couldn't do that, he would wake the second nursing was over if I tried to put him down. I would nurse him to sleep and because he nurses a lot still - every 3ish hours I could run to the store and leave him with daddy but he would wake up the second I'd go, and cry for daddy. I stopped doing that, but now I can run to the corner store and if he wakes daddy can cuddle him with Ella and no tears! He's very very very sweet, and loves cuddles but also loves to suck. He's most definitely a comfort sucker/nurser. He's also the only one out of 6 babies that has never taken a paci. I have no complaints about that, but this is a very nice little break. If I'm home he gets Mommy, if I'm running to the store or shoveling the driveway? He gets Ella... and he doesn't mind. As long as his belly is full and is in Daddy;s arms he is content to suck away!
The only negative thing I have to say about this Paci Plushies? Is that the actual logo rubbed off the paci within a short time of his drool getting all over it. That? isn't a huge deal, not even much of a negative.
Ella Elephant is very light, and adorable. Not like another similar type paci combo we've tried which has a pretty big paci attached that you cannot remove.
With Paci Plushies you can remove the paci, and replace with a different type... or the same one if needed. Which is another huge plus because some babies only take to a certain type of paci so it's easily changed.
Paci Plushies has a lot of animals to choose from: Elephant, Dog, Hippo, Dragon, Turtle, Unicorn... You name it! They also have a few other products I can't wait to try like Chillies - especially with Justin teething.
Ella Elephant retails for $16.00 and you can purchase here. You can visit Paci Plushies here to check out all the other products as well!
I definitely am very glad we were able to give this product a try, and I do recommend it. Especially if your baby does love paci's its a great product!
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. I was given this product complimentary from Nookums Paci Plushies to review. However all opinions and views expressed are mine and 100% true.
