I was recently sent this Hotslings sling to review and let me tell you -- I absolutely love Babywearing so I was excited for the chance to try the Hotslings because I hadn't ever tried on before. I wasn't so sure which size to get so I asked for a Large in AP Black.
It is a little bit big on me, but I think once baby grows it won't be much of an issue - plus I can toddler wear with it since my 3 year old doesn't weigh too much more than my 8 month old (I know!) hes just taller!
I decided to go on a walk using the sling. It was super easy to put on, adjust and keep baby comfortable and in the correct position in. I was impressed. I wasn't so sure how I'd like the adjustable straps but it worked really well, and baby was good and snug in the sling.
I'm used to SSC's and Ring Slings which have quickly become my favorite, so this wasn't a huge switch for me. Justin is 8 months old and likes being held a lot. Most of the day actually, so it's important for me to have a carrier that is not only safe, easy to use but comfortable for the both of us. I'm happy to say our walk lasted just under an hour and I felt nothing. My back wasn't in pain, my side wasn't affected by his 20+lbs. It was wonderful.
Hotslings have full instructions on their website to learn how to use the Sling, they also have a full sizing chart available to make sure you choose the right size for you!
One of The most important parts of Babywearing - is not only being close to your baby but SAFETY. I can't tell you how many times I've searched a #babywearing hastag on Instagram and seen incorrect use of carriers and slings. It's so important to make sure you read about the speficic sling and carrier you are going to use and wear it properly. Not only for your back and shoulders but for baby's safety, and hips!
Hotslings has a great safety section on their website to show you exactly how to wear a Hotslings sling.. Plus a whole list of safe instructions! For smaller babies it's very important to make sure baby's face and chin aren't covered up!
If you are looking for a good, non-bulky, comfortable carrier that isn't tricky to get on I highly suggest a Hotslings Carrier! I know I'll get a lot of use out of this one this summer, I plan to keep it in my bag and have it with me at all times... You never know when baby or toddler will NEED to be held and the ease of this sling will make it easy to get on especially on the go!

That looks like a great baby holder. Neither of my boys ever liked being in that position, so I didn't wear my babies :(
ReplyDeleteMy kids were always too squirmy for baby wearing! Kudos to all the baby wearing mommas!
ReplyDeleteThis looks good. Interesting to see difference between positioning on others.
ReplyDeleteI had a sling but I never could figure out how to wear it right.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a sling but I had a baby carrier that allowed my to wear baby. Loved it!!
ReplyDeleteI used a baby sling for all three of my kids. But it looks like slings have come a long way in 15 years. The Hotsling looks like a wonderful tool for new moms. I will pass this along to all my pregnant friends.
ReplyDeleteBaby wearing for the win!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had one of these when my baby boy was smaller! He is way to big for one of these now!
ReplyDeleteI never used a sling when I had babies. This looks so easy, it would have been great to have.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love babywearing, though my one year old is almost 26 pounds. I've never tried a hotsling.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so comfortable. I was always afraid of falling on my baby so i never wore one of those!

I wish I had a sling like this when I my kids were babies. This looks much more comfortable than the carrier I used.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a good time with this sling. The first one was too small, even though I measured properly and then the second time, with a bigger sling, it just didn't work. I don't know what I did wrong.

I was never a baby-wearer when my kids were little. The Baby Bjorn wasn't comfortable for the kids or for me. I would have def tried this when my kidlets were babes.
ReplyDeleteI had a baby carrier when the twins were first born. Made it so much easier to get things down during the day when I was alone.
ReplyDeleteI loved having a sling with both of my kids. It made doing housework a lot easier.
ReplyDeleteI tried wearing my son, and it just didn't work out. This one is a different style so I wish I would've tried this one!
ReplyDeleteI really, really like the concept of babywearing, but I was never able to do so comfortably once my littles were past the "happy in the Moby wrap" stage. I suspect it's just because I'm a big wimp. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great baby carrier. It seems to work for you and it is always great to have someone else try it out first before the rest of us purchase, LOL.
ReplyDeleteThis looks similar to the baby holder I used with my daughter. She lived in it. It was the best thing ever.
ReplyDeleteI love baby wearing, too. I've worn all for of my boys!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had known more about baby wearing when my oldest was a baby 12 years ago. I loved wearing my 5 yr old when she was a baby, it was great!
ReplyDeleteI've always been intimidated by slings. This looks like a great one though!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter always loved being close to me so baby wearing was perfect for us. I love that they include tutorials and what NOT to do.
ReplyDeletei didn't like my sling when my daughter was little. I think it was too big I always felt it was covering her too much
ReplyDeleteOh, that would be a great baby shower gift!!!
