As I was getting ready to write up this post Timehop informed me I had posted this photo One year ago of Justin. It's crazy how fast time flies - I miss doing these themed photos, now there's no way he would sit still for one!
Halloween is a busy, often dark and usually a wet night around where we live. Cars are flying around driving kids from door to door (right? who does that!?) so you can NEVER be too safe and prepared for anything that may happen! I just wanted to share something we've done the past few Halloween's just to make sure if there are a group of Spiderman's going to a door and we are standing at the bottom of it - we are sure to lead our own kid away!
Neat right? These are cute little reflectable stick on's they are thick and don't fall off. They stick to the back of your child's costume and glow in the dark. I've been using these or different types of these for a few years now and we've never been disappointed. These? $1! At the dollar store. Amazing, Effective and Cheap! Who doesn't love that?
My kids are generally really good about sticking with us, but you can never be too safe on Halloween (or any outing for that matter!)
Tonight we will be carving our Three pumpkins. We usually buy two but this year Jayden went on a field trip to a farm and got one too! So, it will be interesting to see how he wants to carve his very own pumpkin! This is what we did last year.
The pumpkin on the left was my Husband's and he was attempting to create bats and a design. It didn't work out so well. The left? That would be my pumpkin Mickey! It's not perfect but I am darn proud of it!
Wish all of you that celebrate a safe and Happy Halloween!
Do you take any precautions to keep your little ones or even HOUSE safe on Halloween?
We usually go to my parents house to trick or treat. I live on a main road & there are no sidewalks, but my parents live in a nice neighborhood that's set up in a grid system. It's well lit and very safe.
ReplyDeleteI dont have kids yet so I don't take any special precautions. Our neighborhood is FULL of children though so I should probably think more about this!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those little reflectors! We have hundreds, literally hundreds, of trick-or-treaters every year. Last year we came home from a party and the neighborhood was still so full of them, it was scary to try to drive back to our house. This year we're staying home and handing out candy!
ReplyDeleteI like those stickers! We go to the high school for safe trick or treat.
ReplyDeleteWe went to Disney for Halloween as son has football game Halloween night.
ReplyDeleteWe don't go trick or treating. We buy the kids some of their favorite kind of candy and we spend the evening at Chuck E Cheese's. It's been a tradition since I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use reflective stickers on their Halloween costumes. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen those stickers before. That visibility is great for safety!
ReplyDeleteThat Mickey pumpkin is AWESOME! This year we may not celebrate which is CRAZY. We already had a Halloween party so we celebrated early!
ReplyDeleteHow cute are those reflectors! great for a safe Halloween celebration
ReplyDeleteso cute your little pumpkin a year ago!
We usually take our son to a fall festival so it's more enclosed and no traffic to hurt the kids. This year, though, we'll probably walk around the neighborhood and I'll definitely be putting reflective gear on my boy.
ReplyDeleteThose reflectable stick ons are such a good idea! Your Mickey Mouse pumpkin last year was so awesome. We usually keep the kids safe by trick or treating in a neighborhood that the police close off to traffic. There are a lot of people there but no cars.
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of the reflective stickers. And that Mickey Mouse pumpkin is spot on!
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty awesome! You can never be too safe on Halloween. Reflective gear is a really good idea.
ReplyDeleteThe reflectors are a great idea. I love that top picture -- how precious!
ReplyDeleteI like the reflectors. That baby is so adorable and I love his diaper covers.
ReplyDeleteThose reflectors are pretty awesome. I think I need some for my little trick-or-treaters. Love the diapers, I need to get some fall colors for my two youngest. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe reflectors is a really great idea. I love the pumpkins you carved and the picture of you little one is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThose reflectors are cute & a great idea. I wanna trick or treat again :P
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely Halloween! I love those reflectors they are so cute <3
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea for keeping tabs on your little ones! Amber N
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a safe and fun Halloween too. Your son in the Halloween colored cloth diapers are just too cute. Makes me miss having a baby in cloth diapers.
ReplyDeleteMickey turned out great. I will be doing our pumpkins tonight. I always made sure to put reflective and flashing lights on the back of there costumes.
ReplyDeleteI need to start carving my pumpkins soon, Halloween is around the corner.
ReplyDeleteWe do take precautions. I always park our vehicles in the garage. When we go out for trick or treating we also make sure we have flashlights and can be seen easily.
ReplyDeleteThe reflectors are a genius idea! The first picture is way too cute. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI always make sure we have fresh batteries for the flashlights! We travel in groups too
ReplyDeleteThose reflectors are an awesome idea. My kids are pretty good about staying close when we go Trick or Treating but it's always nice to have added protection.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the reflector. Adorable photos! Happy Halloween. I hope everyone stays safe.
ReplyDeleteWe always travel in groups. I hadn't thought of the reflectors though. I need to grab some before we go out tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteWe stay right here in our community for trick or treating. It's super safe. This year we may go to a party at our church.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to pumpkin carving for the first time with the kids tonight.
Those stickers are awesome. And I like your Mickey too, he's cool.
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest. I don't do anything my son usually goes in my parents neighborhood. This year I have honestly haven't even gotten him a costume. Guess I better put something together tonight.
ReplyDeleteReflectors are a great idea! Kids get so excited going door to door and don't pay much attention to cars so the more visible they are, the better.
ReplyDeleteThese reflectors are not only cute but they're so smart to have! And you can't beat that they're only $1!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! We have been working hard to do all sorts of fun things to gear up for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWe're down in Florida this week on vacation, so my kids are missing out on trick or treating. We did make some fun Halloween crafts before we left though.
ReplyDeleteMy little ones are little anymore. But when they were younger we always made sure that they wore reflective clothes and easy costumes.
